VHTF Vintage 1930s JACKEE HORNPIPE DANCER Tin Wind Up Strauss

Vintage Jackee the Hornpipe Dancer Tin Wind Up Ferdinand Strauss

Here we have a very nice vintage Jackee the Hornpipe Dancer, made by the Ferdinand Strauss Co, NY, USA, circa 1930s. This is the harder-to-find version with the musicians and dancers litho on the deck of the boat. A terrific addition to your collection.

This tin litho wind up Navy jigger on deck is in Good condition, with some scratches, small dents, and fading to the litho. The original tabs that attach the arms to the shoulders are present and intact without repair. The two tabs that attach the bottom of the leg to the knee are present and intact without repair. All other tabs on the dancer are intact and without repair. There are five places on the bottom tin plate of the boat that appear to have been soldiered at the tabs. There are no other repairs or touch-ups detected. Wind up mechanism does not work, so the boat does not move and the sailor does not dance as expected. Nothing happens when the key is turned. It will only turn one way and does not make any noise. It measures approx. 8-1/2" tall. Comes complete with attached key. As seen in O'Brien's Collecting  Toys, 12th Edition, page 598. A wonderful example of a very nice collectible wind up toy, offered to you with no reserve.
