Vintage KY/Yoshino Space Frontier Apollo 12 Rocket Tin Litho Battery Operated
Here we have a very nice vintage Space Frontier Apollo 12 Rocket, made by KY/Yoshino, Japan, circa late 1960s-early 1970s. A terrific addition to your collection.
This battery operated rocket features a nicely detailed tin litho design with plastic rocket booster and lem module that revolves and lights up, space noises, pop-up astronaut with 3-lens camera (which was modern back then... the time before laptops and cellphones) and bump-and-go action. It is in Very Good working condition with minimal scratches and wear, no rust or corrosion, and the mechanisms work as expected. The saucer measures approx. 18" long. Requires 2 "D" batteries, not included. Box is not included. As seen on page 154 of Vintage Toys: Robots and Space Toys, (1999) by Jim Bunte, Dave Hallman and Heinz Mueller. A wonderful example of a very collectible Japanese tin litho space toy, offered to you with no reserve.
